Last night our neighborhood celebrated the 4th of July with tremendous fireworks! Neighbors all around our neighborhood probably spent a small fortune purchasing fireworks to entertain family and friends. My husband and I sat out in the backyard taking in the beautiful fireworks display that exploded overhead. I think I might have gotten whiplash trying to turn my head in so many directions because I didn’t want to miss any of the beauty of the 4th of July sky. I enjoyed it as much as the 10 year old kids in the neighborhood, maybe even more.
Each year, more and more families are deciding to purchase fireworks and some of the fireworks I saw last night rival the fireworks set off at our local town park. All around, you could hear neighbors laughing and screaming with delight.
Our next door neighbors came over and chatted for awhile and that was fun, too. It’s always good to slow down for a minute, visit, and catch up on local happenings.
Celebrating America’s freedom is fun and exciting. I’m hoping parents took time to explain to the youngest Americans, who haven’t studied America’s history, why we go a little wild with the fireworks on the 4th of July! America…it may not be perfect, but in my opinion, it’s the best country in the world!
